Yr 4 Environmental Warriors Report

It is that time of year… Christmas cards, candy canes and all. But why all the rubbish? You and only you can help us clean up the Christmas  candy wrappers and paper along with some help of your school friends. Other than that this week has been excellent. Year 6 fun day is coming up to so make sure the school is clean afterwards with all the yummy food stalls.

THANK YOU FROM WEBSITE TEAM!

Hi website readers! READ THIS FOR SOME GREAT RECYCLING TIPS.

This week we have some reminders and tips for home.

1. Remember to vote for our school for the terracycle playground competition.

 2. Remember to take your plastic out of your recycling bins. NO PLASTIC BAGS

3. Remember to put your bins out the front for bin collecting day or your bin will overflow and rubbish will be flying everywhere!

THANK YOU FROM WEBSITE TEAM!

Two weeks ago we did a waste audit and how surprising there were 50 to 100 unopened food containers !

There was 2.4 kg of general waste, 15.7kg of food scraps, 3.35kg of paper and 12.43 kg of plastic containers. That is a total of 33.88kg !

In other news most of the littering is done in the K-2 areas! Remember to put your rubbish in the bin. Thanks for helping!

Our first week has been a success with year 4 working on helping nature. However, we need to improve on a few areas we have talked to Wendy of what she thinks of her of cleaning the school. So watch out bike riders because surprisingly enough the bike racks have been tittered the most but on the other hand, the big cola were everybody eats and has the least litter. However, some very bad news came up of people littering on purpose! But not everyone. Just keep a lookout for year four is watching you! So let us help nature!
